MEET

celebrating Christmas with Harar's beautiful children - we gathered them every Saturday to play, love and teach them about Jesus...

Hi! My name is Sarah. From my early years, I have loved Jesus. I have always had, it seems, a taste for the exotic. I loved to try new things, explore, and was interested in foreign cultures. Yet I never imagined that the lifestyle Jesus would call me to would be the missionary life.

For some years, I fought this dream of God, choosing instead to chase my own dreams. But there came a point when my plans weren’t working out and, worse yet, I was no longer satisfied with them.

Enter the Holy Spirit, for now I was ready to listen. Now I had surrendered to Him and was desperate to know HIS calling and will. I didn’t care what that was, I just wanted direction.

What happened next I never could have imagined. In about 3 years, I was baptized in water, flew to Peru for my first international missions trip, attended a 9-month intensive ministry school, traveled to Thailand and Mexico for Jesus, became a small group leader for middle school girls [<3], and found myself falling more and more in love with the mission life, especially after an intense 8 months spent in Harar, Ethiopia!

My heart now is to see the unreached people of the world hear the life-changing message of the Gospel. The salvation and pure love of Christ has turned my life upside down. I have seen miracles happen. The name of Jesus opens blind eyes, causes the lame to dance, drives demons away and sets the captives free! The name of Jesus is daring and controversial today, but I believe it is the only way to establish true change and peace in individuals and in nations.

This blog is for them: the unreached and beautiful ones around the world that Jesus loves. Where ever I go next is entirely up to Him; I choose not to chart my life but to go where He leads me. Anywhere.
