Okay, I may be in the United States, but the work at Mission SOS’s Ethiopia base continues! Your prayers are extremely vital now as the local church continues its growth on the Horn of Africa. Please join me in praying for the incredible Church of Joy and its amazing leaders and members!

Pray for the Bible School students who just started an intensive 3-month course to grow in understanding of the Bible, the Holy Spirit and living a powerful Book-of-Acts lifestyle!

Pastor Ashagre and Selamawit will be married on July 31, 2011! Please pray for this beautiful transition as they begin their new lives together. Pray for all finances for the wedding to be covered!

Continue to pray for people to come to salvation through Christ! A recent outreach by the Evangelism Team took place in Somali-land; the Gospel was preached and several people were saved! Pray that strong disciples will be raised up in the Harar area and that the Holy Spirit continues to open doors into new areas!

Pray for the newly appointed leaders in the church! Last month, many disciples were given responsibilities in areas like Children’s Ministry, Prayer and House Churches. Pray that they grow in these areas and listen to the Holy Spirit, living strong lives devoted to Christ. [All of the leadership in the Church of Joy is Ethiopian now and they are doing an incredible job!]

As you know, I worked primarily with the children and preteen girls in Harar. My steadfast friend, Tshay is the leader now of this important area, with 2 leaders under her! Please lift her up in prayer and encouragement – pray that the young ones of Ethiopia will continue to hear the Gospel and grow in the knowledge of God!

Pray for strength, focus, wisdom and compassion for Pastors Ashagre and Mohammed and their beautiful families. Our prayers, even from so far away, are vital as they continue to build the Kingdom of God among the unreached peoples. They are heroes – truly some of the most amazing people I have ever worked with.
The Bible says that the prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective (James 5:16)! Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you as you pray for and bless them. Believe me, no time spent in prayer is wasted!
